This class is designed to encourage and challenge students as they develop their Language Arts skills. By working together, we can ensure that every student has a successful and enjoyable school year. Our focus this year will be on reading comprehension, writing, and public speaking. In addition, spelling, grammar, and vocabulary development are a large part of a student's 7th grade education.
Every week, assignments will be posted on the "Agenda" page. Students should copy their assignments into the agenda section of their notebook. I encourage all parents to visit this page to ensure that their child is doing the correct assignments. Any absent students should look here to see what they have missed. Also, missing or late assignments can be downloaded from the "Quiz Review and Assignments" tab.
It is important that students bring their school provided, spiral bound notebook to class everyday. This is the best way for students to organize and maintain their notes for the class. Your Language Arts notebook is meant to last the entire year so paper should not be removed for any other classes.
In addition to what we do in class, reading is an integral part of developing your critical thinking skills, and it's fun. Make sure you have a book you enjoy reading with you every day.
